Gertrude Edna Lewis Gates was an Arizona rancher who operated the DA Ranch from 1910-1922, in Cornville, AZ, Yavapai County. Collection includes correspondence, notebooks, cattle records, and financial papers pertaining to the operation and maintenance of the D.A. Ranch and of rental property in Flagstaff. Specifically, the materials contain detailed descriptions of the ranch, inventories of equipment, and personal letters relating to Gates’s interest in missionary work among indigenous peoples.
