Journalist and human rights activist, Marcela Turati, describes the structural, security, political, economic, and cultural issues that journalists and the industry face in Mexico such as corruption and a lack of proper education. According to Turati, the biggest challenge for organizations that try to protect journalists and raise awareness of the danger they face in Mexico are internal fighting, disorganization, and constant efforts to silence journalists. Turati also discusses her organization, Periodistas de a Pie, and how social media plays an important role in organizing, protesting and raising awareness.

Periodista y activista de derechos humanos, Marcela Turati describe las realidades estructurales, políticas, económicas y culturales enfrentadas por periodistas y la industria en México, incluyendo la corrupción y la falta de educación adecuada. De acuerdo con Turati, uno de los retos más grandes para organizaciones que intentan proteger a periodistas y crear conciencia sobre los peligros que acechan en México, es la falta de unidad (desacuerdos internos), desorganización, y los constantes atentos para silenciar a periodistas. Turati también habla de su organización, Periodistas de a Pie, y de la manera en que las redes sociales juegan un importante papel en la orquestación de eventos, protestas y la toma de conciencia.
