We encourage you to use our materials in publications, broadcasts, websites, commercial displays, or exhibits. 

Publishing rights

For materials where Special Collections owns the copyright, we charge fees for permission to publish.

Special Collections does not claim to control all rights for all materials in our collection, including copyright, privacy, or cultural protection rights. If you submit a request to use our materials in your publication, you assume all responsibility for clearing rights before you publish.

Fees

Service Fee(s)
Print formats (books, periodicals, brochures, etc.) with a production run under 10,000 copies $75 for each material you’d like to publish
Print formats (books, periodicals, brochures, etc.) with a production run over 10,000 copies $200 for each material you’d like to publish
Multimedia formats (ebooks, television, film, etc.) $200 for each material you’d like to publish
Decorative display (window displays, wall decoration, etc.) $75 for each material you’d like to publish
Advertisements $200 minimum
Use of audio from Special Collections $150 for up to 10 minutes
Use of video from Special Collections $150 for up to 10 minutes
Nonprofit use of audio or video from Special Collections $35 for up to 10 minutes
