Account of Early Incidents Connected with the Peralta Grant

Cover Page of "Account of Early Incidents Connected with the Peralta Grant"

James Addison Reavis (1843-1914) was a swindler and forger, famous for attempting to fraudulently obtain 7,500 sq. miles of Arizona Territory by falsifying documents in Mexico and Spain to show a Spanish land grant to Don Miguel Peralta in 1748.

This collection contains a photocopy of a typescript related to Reavis’ version of events surrounding the Peralta land grant claim. This text was reproduced in The Peralta Grant; James Addison Reavis and the Barony of Arizona published by University of Oklahoma Press in 1960.
