Transcript of L.C. Hughes' Address before the Farmers, Fruit and Stock Growers of Arizona Meeting

Louis C. Hughes, (1844-1915) was an Arizona pioneer, lawyer, newspaper publisher, and politician. Hughes established the Arizona Daily Star in 1877, publishing it until his death in 1915. He served as district attorney, probate judge, attorney general for Arizona, U.S. Court Commissioner, Governor of Arizona, 1893-1896, and chancellor of the Board of Regents, 1897-1898.

This collection includes a typescript of an address by Hughes, before the meeting of the Farmers, Fruit and Stock Growers of Arizona, Oct. 18, 1895, on the occasion of the its organization.
