Articles of Agreement

The Arizona Mining Company was a major company in the mining business that operated out of Santa Cruz County, AZ.

The collection contains a holograph manuscript of the “Articles of Agreement” drawn up on parchment in London, England on August 25th, 1869, which Charles D. Poston, attorney for the Arizona Mining Company, transferred to Roswell Sabine Ripley of London for 100,000 pounds sterling; along with all the real and movable property and mineral rights pertaining to the Arivaca Ranch and the Heintzelman Mine, located in Cerro Colorado, AZ. Also included is an affidavit signed by the Mayor of London and the U.S. Consul-General at London acknowledging the validity of the agreement.
