Ledger Page from Clarke's Cattle Ranching Venture

Phillip M. Clarke (1889-1963) was an Irish immigrant who came to the United States in 1892, making his way from New York to Arizona in 1907. Clarke was a businessman, banker and rancher in Tucson, AZ. He owned several stores and ranches, in addition to serving as Vice President of several banks, including the Valley National Bank.

This collection contains a journal, ledger, and other records relating to Clarke’s cattle ranching from 1919 to 1924, a store he owned in Ruby, AZ from 1916 to 1918, and other investments he made in Southern Arizona. The store journal provides detailed entries of customers and items sold.
