Louis John Frederick Jaeger (1824-1892) was a ferryman and adventurer. He operated a ferry along the Colorado River in Yuma, AZ from 1850 to 1877.

This collection contains holograph notebooks spanning Mar. 1, 1875 to Apr. 7, 1880 and Feb. 11 to Mar. 25, 1892. The entries relate weather conditions, work accomplished, money owed or paid, and daily events. A 500-page transcript and photocopy accompanies the notebooks.
