Early Arizona History

Sepia-toned photo of men gathered in a forest clearing during the surrender of Apache leader Geronimo to General Crook, March 1886.

The collection contains a typescript by Arizona historian Opie Rundle Burgess concerning activities of Apache Indians in Arizona, chiefly Apache leaders Cochise, Geronimo, and Mangas Colorado. The collection also includes three photographs by C.S. Fly of Geronimo's surrender.
