Edward Payson Mathewson was a metallurgist and mining engineer and a professor of administration of mineral industries at the University of Arizona from 1926 to 1942, and wrote History of the Ajo District.

The collection contains a typescript of the paper which was read before the Tucson Literary Club in November 1933 in Tucson, AZ.
