Diego Martinez de Hurdaide (1568-1628) was the Mexican-born captain of the presidio of San Felipe from 1598 to 1626, and was in charge of the extension of Spanish and Christian rule in Sinaloa and Sonora. He served as Alcalde Mayor of Sinaloa from 1600 to 1626. The collection includes a photocopy of transcribed typescript in Spanish with English translation.
