Letters sent from James F. Braun to his family

James Braun was raised in Los Angeles, CA and attended San Fernando Valley State College before joining the US Air Force. He was a member of the 1st Infantry Division and served from 1964-1967. Braun returned from Vietnam in 1968 and married Sue Zanne Garner of Chatsworth on June 30, 1968.

This collection consists of letters written by Lt. James A. Braun to his family while he was serving in the Vietnam War. The majority of Braun's letters were sent to his parents, William F. and Maxine J. Braun, and sister Leslie in Sepulveda, California; a few letters from friends and to other individuals are also housed in the collection. The collection also includes two army emblems.
