John Francis (1848-1899) was a manager for the Camarones Copper Company. From 1890 through 1894, he managed the Astillero Mine in Huasco, Chile.

Collection includes original mechanical drawings of smelting installations used in the Chilean copper industry during the latter half of the 19th century, accompanied by a day book of the Astillero Mine finances, 1890-1894.
