Letter from Sergeant James E. Derwent to Charles Fellows, Regarding the Death of Cochise, 1874 June 10

The collection consists of a letter from James E. Derwent, Sergeant in Company D of the 5th United States Cavalry, to personal friend Charles Fellows discussing the death of Apache leader, Cochise, on the Chiricahua reservation. Included is the holograph letter with the original envelope.
