Manuscripts of John L. Riggs

John L. Riggs was a local historian and author working in Mohave County, AZ.

The collection includes holograph articles concerning Mohave County, its history, the Walapai Indians, turquoise mines, the Silver Hill Massacre, and the killing of the Luke party. There is also mention of William H. Hardy, a businessman from California who moved to Arizona in the early 1860s and founded the town of Hardyville along the Colorado River in Mohave County in 1864.
