James M. Robinson was an American author and wrote Americanski Journalist:Ten Thousand Miles of Russia Through the Eyes of an American Observer, published by Westernlore Press, Los Angeles, in 1969. Robinson travelled to many countries and wrote about his experiences.

The collection contains typescripts of manuscripts, photographs, correspondence, a diary from Yalta to Iceland, maps, travel brochures, postcards and other memorabilia from Robinson's 1962 and 1964 railway trips in the Soviet Union. The collection also includes typescripts of the original and final versions of Americanski Journalist, four photographs used in the book, and correspondence with friends, travel agents, and Russian tour operator Intourist. Additional materials pertain to Japan, Finland, Iceland, and the Danube.
