Mining Claim for T&C Mine Issued to Samuel Clark, June 6, 1913

Samuel Clark (b. 1871) was the founder of Clarkston, AZ, which would later be known as Rowood. Clark laid out the townsite of Clarkston in 1916, and operated mining properties in Ajo and Clarkston beginning in 1907.

The collection contains mining papers, account books, records of leases, scrapbook of photographs and newspaper clippings, and other business and personal papers. Also included are blueprints of maps, time books, expense accounts, and photographs of Clarkston and the Ajo Mining District. Also present are family photographs, subscription lists of Clarkston inhabitants, and account books for rental properties.
