Paul M. Roca Papers and Photographs

This collection contains photographs and manuscripts which document Jesuit churches throughout the Northern Mexico states of Sonora and Chihuahua. Within the collection are156 photographs primarily taken by Paul M. Roca featured in Paths of the Padres through Sonora: An Illustrated History & Guide to Its Spanish Churches published by the Arizona Pioneers’ Historical Society in 1967 with accompanying maps. Also contained are four manuscript versions of Spanish Jesuit Churches in Mexico’s Tarahumara published by the University of Arizona Press in 1979.
