Records of The University of Arizona Desert Riders

History of the Desert Riders, 1951

The University of Arizona Desert Riders was a women's honorary riding club, formed in 1921, using horses on loan from the University of Arizona R.O.T.C Cavalry Unit. The club was disbanded in 1944, when the horses were sold at auction by the University. The collection includes a typescript constitution, minutes of meetings dating from 1931 to 1947, lists of members, a historical sketch and miscellaneous related material.
