The San Rafael de la Zanja ranch was owned by the San Rafael Cattle Co. However, Alfred A. Green lodged a challenge to the title. The collection includes letters, copies of legal documents, maps, and survey notes and other materials chiefly relating to the claims of Green. Includes a map and survey notes by George J. Roskruge; a typescript record book of correspondence and testimony dating from 1880 to 1885; survey and map of mines in the area, a copy of by-laws of the San Rafael Cattle Company; and a list of mines on the ranch including mining towns of Harshaw, Mowry, Washington Camp, and La Naria.
