Walter B. Stevens (1848-1939) was a journalist for the St. Louis Globe-Democrat. He covered the Peralta Land Grant case, writing most of the articles on the topic published in the newspapers at the time.

The collection contains scrapbooks of newspaper clippings concerning the case from 1895-1899, as well as clippings concerning other land grants. Also included are 88 pages of typescripts of news articles, some of which are articles featured in the scrapbook.
