Convento de Santo Domingo de Mexico documents

Presented by Dr. Michael Brescia, Curator of Ethnohistory, Arizona State Museum and Professor of History, University of Arizona Department of History. His research and teaching interests include Mexico, colonial borderlands, Spanish water rights in the American Southwest, and translation and paleography. He is co-author of North America: An Introduction, published this year by the University of Toronto Press. Dr. Brescia examines how the Morales de Escárcega collection illuminates the major periods of Mexico’s past from the colonial era to modern times. He will suggest potential research avenues to pursue for those interested in exploring the collection further.
