The Frame: A Pandemic Virtual Dance

The Frame: A Pandemic Virtual Dance is an assemblage of the different stages lived during the transitional phases from physical to virtual interaction of dancers throughout the border. This project maps out the strategies and modifications that dancers, choreographers, and instructors did to mimic a face-to-face encounter. Beyond physical movement, this film suggests different technical tools that can be used to approach dance instruction and performance virtually. This piece was made in collaboration with dancers, choreographers, musicians, and visual artists that reside in the US/Mexico border and whose work in this project was inspired by their own experience as border artists.
