Stewart Lee Udall played a key role in the transformation of U.S. conservation efforts into the environmental movement of today. Along with this brother Morris King Udall, Stewart set the foundation for countless enduring pieces of environmental legislation, national historic landmarks and shorelines, and legislation betraying a deep and abiding respect for the original inhabitants of the lands encompassed by the continental United States.
The following exhibit represents a broad, but concise, snapshot of Stewart's legacy through selected photographs, correspondence, and memorabilia available through the University of Arizona Library Special Collections.
