Interview with Victor Ruiz Arrazola

Victor Ruiz Arrazola, journalist and attorney with Casa de los Derechos de Periodistas, talks about the legacy of censorship over the years and throughout the country, the role that sources of funding and the generalized violence play in the way the news are reported, and of the many journalist who are forced to relocate due to their reporting of the news. Ruiz Arrazola describes the services provided by his organization and how it collaborates with other groups interested in protecting the rights of journalists, as well as the work done by the Attorney General of Mexico.

Victor Ruiz Arrazola, periodista y abogado con la Casa de los Derechos de Periodistas, habla sobre el legado de la censura a lo largo del tiempo y a través del país, sobre como las fuentes de fondos y violencia generalizada afecta como se reportan las noticias, y sobre la gran cantidad de periodistas que se ven forzados a relocarse debido a su reportaje de las noticias. Ruiz Arrazola describe los servicios ofrecidos por su organización y como esta colabora con otros grupos interesados en protejer los derechos de los periódistas, al igual que el trabajo desempeñado por la Procuraduría General de la República.
